Kalkaji election result LIVE: Atishi trails, BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri leads in early trends

As per Election Commission of India's data, the BJP is leading in 32 seats and Arvind Kejriwal's AAP is ahead on 14 seats.

BJP MP Harsh Malhotra said that the early trends for the Delhi election has exposed Arvind Kejriwal's bad governance and corruption.

"This is the reason the public has made up their mind to change the government. BJP's credibility, development works in other states and work done by the central government of the nation will ensure BJP will form majority govt in Delhi," he told ANI.

As counting of votes is underway in Delhi, BJP Kalkaji candidate Ramesh Bidhuri offered prayers at his residence.

He is contesting against Delhi CM and AAP candidate Atishi, and Congress' Alka Lamba, from the Kalkaji seat.

BJP Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva said, Early trends are as per our expectation but we will wait for the results. Our party workers have worked hard."

He said that the saffron party's win will belong to the top leadership. He said that the BJP has contested the Delhi election on the basis of the capital's issues.

But, he said, "Arvind Kejriwal tried to deviate from the issues... The central leadership will decide the CM face.

Early trends gave the lead to the BJP and its candidate Ramesh Bidhuri on the Kalkaji assembly constituency. However, the Election Commission of India has so far not put out any official trends or figures for Kalkaji.

Though early trends gave the lead to the BJP, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that his party will form the government in Delhi, proving the exit poll wrong.

"Arvind Kejriwal will become the CM for the fourth time... In most exit polls, AAP has less vote share, because the poor people don't say anything about their vote. They go to polling stations and vote as per their will. The exit polls will be proven wrong as AAP is going to form the govt this time as well," he said while speaking to reporters.

Congress candidate from Kalkaji assembly seat Alka Lamba exuded confidence over his victory from the constituency.

"I don't think the people of Kalkaji have liked BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri. There was anger amongst the people due to his language. With money and power, he also tried to influence counts at many of my polling booths," Lamba told ANI.

She also accused Atishi for not doing any work for the people, saying that she sought votes in Arvind Kejriwal's name.

She reiterated that AAP's politics is centred on development and governance rather than religious or vote-bank strategies.

"We do not indulge in religious politics or vote bank politics. What we have is the love of the people of Delhi and the grace of God. I hope that once again, we receive the love and blessings of the people of the national capital today," she added.

Atishi is currently trailing in the Kalkaji constituency against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, while Congress candidate Alka Lamba is also behind in the race.

However, Atishi continues to trail in her Kalkaji constituency against BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri.
