JEE Mains 2025 Live: Candidates say paper moderate, Physics tough for some

A few candidates from the same exam centre rated the Physics part of the question paper tough. Overall, they found the paper moderately difficult.

Abhinav Raj, who appeared for the exam at Pataliputra, Patna, said: “My paper went well. It was a moderate paper. Chemistry was a bit tough, but Mathematics and Physics were of a moderate difficulty level.”

Calculators and watches are prohibited inside the JEE Mains exam hall. A clock will be displayed on the exam console so that candidates can keep track of time.

Before leaving the exam hall, candidates must drop the rough worksheet, and the admit card in the box provided. Failing to do this may result in non-evaluation of answers.

The first shift of the JEE Main day 1 exam has ended. In this shift, the Engineering (BE/BTech, paper 1) exam was held from 9 am to 12 pm.

In the second shift too, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the paper 1, from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Diabetic candidates are allowed to carry edibles like sugar tablets/fruits (bananas, apples, oranges) and transparent water bottles. Packed food such as chocolate, sandwich candy, etc., are not allowed.

The following items are strictly prohibited inside the JEE Mains exam hall-

Instrument/geometry/pencil box, handbag, purse, any kind of paper/stationary/textual material (printed or written), water, mobile phone/earphone/pager, calculator, DocuPen, slide rules, log tables, camera, tape recorder, watch, any metallic object.

Candidates should ensure that the question paper displayed on the computer screen is the same as the opted subject and medium. If there is any error, they should inform the invigilator immediately.

Candidates need to fill in the requested information on the attendance sheet, put their signature and left-hand thumb impression, and paste the photograph in the place provided.

They must ensure that the thumb impression is clear and not smudged.

The second shift of JEE Main 2025 will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm. The first shift started at 9 am and will end at 12 pm.

Section-wise analysis of the JEE Main shift 1 paper will be shared here after 12 pm, when the exam is over.

After the exam is over, candidates need to drop the printed copy of the JEE Main admit card and all scribble pages in the place provided.

Candidates must write their name, roll number, etc., on scribble pages as instructed by invigilators.

• JEE Main admit card (with self-declaration form)
• Photo ID proof
• Photograph (Same as the one use in the application form, to be pasted on attendance sheet)
• PwD certificate and scribe document (if applicable)
• Diabetic candidates can bring edibles as specified on the admit card

Pen and scribble pad will be provided to candidates.

The NTA has started the day 1, shift 1 of the JEE Main 2025. The exam started at 9 am and will continue till 12 pm.

The second shift is scheduled for 3 pm to 6 pm.

It is mandetory for all candidates to bring a copy of the JEE Main admit card to the exam venue.

Take printout of the admit card in colour and on an A4 size paper. Make sure all details, including the photo and signature are clear. Print all pages of the hall ticket (including the undertaking) and bring an original photo ID, photograph and other documents (PwD certificate, scribe documents etc., if applicable) for verification.

• Wear slippers or sandals with low heels.
• Do not wear closed footwear, including shoes.
• Wear light cloths with half sleeves (T shirt, etc).
• Avoid garments with large buttons.
• Do not wear caps, dupatta, sunglasses.
• Metalic objects, including watches are not allowed.

If you wear a specific attire for religious or customary reasons, reach the exam venue early to undergo the frisking process.

On the first day, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold the JEE Main paper 1 (BE/BTech) exam in two shifts.

Shift 1: From 9 am to 12 pm.

Shift 2: From 3 pm to 6 pm.
