India vs England 2nd T20I Highlights: Tilak Varma didn't celebrate his half-century. England's pacers kept India in check in the first 10 overs despite the hosts' batters looking to go big. Jofra Archer and Mark Wood did the job initially but Brydon Carse has since taken over and India are not being helped by them losing wickets frequently just when it starts to look like they have a grip on the chase of 166. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav then smashed a few boundaries to seemingly put India back on top after the openers fell early but Brydon Carse's two strikes have kept the visitors within sight of a victory.

Six out of the seven Indian bowlers got a wicket earlier as England were restricted to a score of 165/9. England's inability to pick the Indian spinners was in the forefront once again. Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar struck in the powerplay after which Varun Chakravarthy sent back Harry Brook once again. Brook had blamed the smog for his dismissal in the last T20I but he couldn't pick Chakravarthy in Chennai either despite the lack of smog in the city.

Arshdeep dismissed Phil Salt in the first over once again and that brought England captain Jos Buttler early, as was the case in the first T20I. India have brought in Washington Sundar and Dhruv Jurel in place of Rinku Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy, both of whom have sustained injuries. Mohammed Shami remains on the sidelines as Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and chose to bowl first in the second T20I.

India vs England LIVE SCORE: England's two one-man shows in the first T20I

India vs England LIVE SCORE: A grand total of two English players looked capable of competing in any way against India in Kolkata (it would've been three had it not been for the darned smog that blocked Harry Brook's vision). Jos Buttler was as majestic as ever as he went about smashing 68 in 44 balls. He never looked like he was forcing the runs to come and yet, he struck at 154.54. When he did start trying to force the shots, he perished. Later, Jofra Archer was pretty much the only bowler who could keep the Indians from scoring at will and Buttler got him to bowl all four of his overs on the trot, considering England were defending just 133. He finished with figures of 2/21 and Abhishek Sharma went berzerk as soon as Archer was done with his spell.

India vs England LIVE SCORE: The two T20I matches ever played at the Chepauk

India vs England LIVE SCORE: England's current head coach Brendon McCullum was player of the match in the first-ever T20I played at the Chepauk. New Zealand, led by Ross Taylor, batted first against MS Dhoni's India on September 11, 2012. McCullum smashed 95 in 55 balls as New Zealand put up a score of 167/5. In response, Virat Kohli, then opening with India's current head coach Gautam Gambhir, smashed 70 in 41 balls, but Suresh Raina and those that came after him - Yuvraj Singh, Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, couldn't accelerate and India ended up losing to 166/4 in 20 overs. James Franklin defended the required 13 runs in the final over.

The second match was against the West Indies in November 2018 and this time, India won by six wickets. An incredible 53 not out off 25 balls by Nicholas Pooran took the West Indies to a score of 181/3. However, Shikhar Dhawan smashed 92 in 62 balls to lead India's chase and a misfield by bowler Fabian Allen off the last ball of the match allowed Manish Pandey to take the winning single.

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Harry Brook's smog problem

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: While Harry Brook acknowledged that he and the rest of England have struggled against spin, the star batter gave another reason as to why they failed so spectacularly in Kolkata. “Chakaravarthy is an exceptionally good bowler,” Brook said. “But with the smog the other night, it was a lot harder to pick. Hopefully, the air is a bit clearer here, and we can see the ball a bit easier.”

Brook has been signed up by Delhi Capitals. FYI.

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Varun Chakravarthy is back home

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: He obviously doesn't play for CSK but so deep is Varun Chakravarthy's connection with the Chepauk that it doesn't really matter where he plays his IPL home matches. First of all, Varun plays for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket. Moreover, he first made a name playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League and even before that, he had started out in his cricket career as a net bowler for CSK.

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: England looking to be “more aggressive”

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: The chastening defeat in the first T20I hasn't deterred England one bit. In fact, captain Jos Buttler said that they would be even more aggressive towards the Indian spinners than they were in Kolkata. “We just didn’t quite impose the game that we wanted to play. If anything, we’ll be more aggressive and come back harder in the next one," Buttler had told the media after the match. “We’re always trying to be aggressive in T20 cricket. On the day sometimes it won’t come off but we’re backing everyone in the dressing room to play however they want to play and commit to it.”

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Chepauk stadium - CSK fortress but a rare T20I host

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Chepauk Stadium is arguably best known as the den of the mighty Chennai Super Kings nowadays. This only makes it more surprising that this venue is hosting a T20 international for just the... wait for... THIRD time! That's right, in the 18 years that India has been hosting T20Is, the Chepauk Stadium has been used as a venue just twice.

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Shami's buildup to this match

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Shami was among the first batch of Indian bowlers to train on Friday evening here at the Chepauk. Bowling coach Morne Morkel was keeping a keen eye on him as he went through the motions. Notably, he had protective layers on both his knees.

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: About Mohammed Shami…

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Suryakumar Yadav dropped a bombshell at toss ahead of the first match that Shami won't be playing. It led to a myriad questions over Shami's fitness, considering he was widely expected to play his first international since the final of the 2023 World Cup as he was included in the squad. And if it wasn't fitness, well, tactically the ploy worked for India as they enjoyed a record win over England but then physios could be scratching their heads wondering why in the world a recovering Shami has been picked if all his workload is going to go in the nets and warm-ups. If he is included today, one of the spinners will have to go and the prime candidate for that is Ravi Bishnoi.

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Here we go!

India Vs England LIVE SCORE: Hello all you wonderful people. Welcome to our coverage for the 2nd T20I between India and England, which will be played in Chennai tonight. The series opener was expected to land a punch, but it ended in a whimper more than a bang as India ran England ragged, demolishing them in less than 13 overs. But with four more matches to go, England know they have enough time to recover from the smashing in Kolkata. Unlike the Eden Gardens, the Chepauk deck is expected to be a tad sluggish. So what may not have been a winning total at the Eden Gardens, certainly can at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
