On the allegations against Adani Group, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, "You think Adani is going to accept the charges? Obviously he is going to deny the charges. The point is that he has to be arrested as we have said. Hundreds of people are being arrested on tiny charges and the gentleman (Gautam Adani) has been indicted in the United States for thousands of crores, he should be in jail and the Govt is protecting him..."

Rajya Sabha proceedings have been adjourned for the day amid opposition protests over several issues.

On the laws to check vulgar content on social media, Union I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said today that “there is a lot of difference between the culture of our country and the countries from where these social media platforms have come”.

“So I would like the Standing Committee of the Parliament to take up this issue and strict laws are made regarding the same,” Vaishnaw said.

Congress MP KC Venugopal has given an adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha to discuss the issue of alleged misconduct of Adani Group and the formation of JPC on the issue.

On former Attorney General and Senior Counsel Mukul Rohatgi's statement on the allegations against Adani Group, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, "We are raising that question under rule 267 today and we will let you know after that."

Furthermore, the Andhra Pradesh government is reportedly considering scrapping its solar power deal with SECI, alleging that Adani paid ₹1,750 crore in bribes to the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. I demand an immediate discussion and a CBI inquiry into these allegations," the notice read.

Parliament Winter Session kickstarted on Monday, November 25, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered his customary speech and appealing to all the MPs to hold constructive discussions on key issues.

Delivering his customary speech at Parliament complex, PM Modi also hit out at the Opposition, saying some members, ‘rejected by the people 80-90 times’, jeopardise House proceedings and do not let new MPs speak.

Meanwhile, leaders of Opposition bloc INDIA met at the office of Congress MP and Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Malliakarjun Kharge to discuss a unified opposition strategy to have on the floor of both houses in Parliament.

Opposition members of the Joint Working Committee on the Waqf Amendment Bill also wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, requesting an extension for completing consultations on the proposed changes to the Waqf Act. The contentious Waqf Amendment Bill is among the 16 bills listed to be taken up for consideration. The Waqf Bill has been listed for consideration and passage after the joint committee of the two Houses submits its report to the Lok Sabha.

BJP member Jagdambika Pal-led parliamentary committee scrutinising the Waqf (Amendment) Bill is expected to meet on Wednesday, and its members are likely to move their own amendments to the proposed law, sources cited in a news agency PTI report said.

On Tuesday, Parliament held a special event in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan to launch yearlong celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly. President Droupadi Murmu delivered an address at the event.

Addressing the event, President Murmu said the Indian Constitution is a living and progressive document through which we have achieved the goals of social justice and inclusive development.

President Droupadi Murmu lauded the central government for development work in the country and also recalled the contribution of the 15 women members of the Constituent Assembly in framing the Indian Constitution.

Lok Sabha was adjourned on Monday without transacting any significant business amid uproar by opposition members on various issues. As soon as the Lok Sabha reconvened at noon, opposition members were heard raising slogans about the violence in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal and demanding a probe into the allegations levelled against a prominent businessman in a US court.

Rajya Sabha proceedings were also adjourned on Monday as opposition parties led by the Congress tried to raise the issue of the indictment of Adani group founder chairman Gautam Adani and others in a US court on charges of paying bribes to secure solar power supply contracts.

Congress plan to launch protests, both inside and outside Parliament, led by its leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, against the lack of assistance from the central government for the survivors of Wayanad landslide, which occurred on July 30 this year.

The tragedy devastated large parts of three villages --Punchirimattam, Chooralmala, and Mundakkai--along with sections of Attamala in Kerala's Wayanad.

As per government figures, the deadly disaster claimed 231 lives, while 47 people are still missing.
